AT&T Received Empty Box!?

I pre-ordered the Galaxy S9+ on the 11th of March. The phone shipped on the 13th, I received the package on the 14th, the box was empty. I called AT&T customer support and went through eight different representatives none of which told the following representative what my situation was. I talked on the phone for 2+ hours only to find out that I "might" receive the phone I pre-ordered (which anyone can go pick up in the store on the 16th of March) in 7 days. I paid $900+ for a phone that I now have to wait longer than an average Joe has to wait to go buy in a store. I am extremely dissatisfied with AT&T's customer support, the fact that I received an empty box should not be happening to customers. I asked the last representative I spoke to to give me a compensation for my inconvenience and loss of time; he spoke to his supervisor and told me that there was nothing he could do for me. I 100% would not recommend AT&T to anyone and I will not let this issue go ignored; I must be compensated.

You don't realize that someone in the shipping chain stole the phone out of the box. It will take time for the shipping company to deal with the problem.

I do realize that, What I don't understand is why I am not compensated for this inconvenience.
