AT&T IRU discount verification

I keep getting an email that says this from AT&T IRU Discount Verification:

FIRST NOTICE Please submit valid proof of employment within 3 days to verify your employment status or your wireless service discount will not apply.”

not sure how I should respond? There’s no place to email back or place to upload employment verification. Thanks

Hi @Agxi16,

Thank you for reaching out. Allow us to delve into this for you.

We are curious to know if you are getting this message after you attempted to enroll for your employee discount. If that is the case, then an error must have occurred in the enrollment.. In order to complete your enrollment, we recommend you send copies of your proof of employment and end user agreement forms by fax to 877.712.5791. You can also take copies with you to any AT&T Store closest to you.

Let us know if this helps.

Doyin, AT&T Community Specialist.

I just got this email tonight. I have no idea what you are asking or which device it applies to. I have my cell phone and internet/u-verse/phone. I spoke with a customer loyalty rep yesterday regarding my u-verse but I assumed he took care of everything that was applicable.

I keep getting this same message and have tried calling the 866-482-4608 number (it's closed).  The only discount we applied for is a military discount.

Well, since this thread has been going on for months, I think it's safe to assume there will be no further responses from AT&T. I am not and never have been an employee of AT&T and, after getting three of these messages, they seemed to have stopped. I'm not concerned about it anymore.

I received the same email after going into the store to show my military ID. Is there an actual error? Do I need to go back and show it again? What a pain, I’ve  been signed up for 5 months and I am still trying to get my discount applied. Feels like such a scam. Does anyone ever get a credit for the months that they’ve paid full price while waiting for their discount?

I got the same message after enrolling online and going into the local store to show proof of military service. It seems like they want to make it as difficult as possible to apply the discount. But they have no problem advertising the discount and making bold promises to the public. But there is little substance behind their promise to support prior service members.

It took SEVERAL (between 8 and 10) 611 calls since mid-December after applying for the military discount as well as from switching from a "signature" plan to an "unlimited" plan to ensure our bill was correct.  The day before the auto-pay was done, I received a bill for $171 when I was told it would be $130.  I called them twice that day and FINALLY it was all corrected.  Good luck, everyone.  They don't make things easy.

We signed up in late October and I uploaded my DD214 in early November.  I am still trying to get the discount.  It is a Scam - they obviously make you work very hard..... I have the email - screenshots of chats, etc.. everything that documents my conversations and they can't seem to give me a person to sent it to!!!!

I think everyone should file a complaint with the BBB and Consumer protection bureau

I don’t know if the BBB would matter much as they are a privet business. Not unlike google reviews in some ways.

I would recommend sending letters to the attorney general of your respective states.

If someone wants to type up an effective complaint summary and post it here. Anyone could use it to participate.
