Wrongful Account Setup

I came into the store on Ditmars Astoria last year as a new customer (consumer), looking to trade in my iPhone 12 for credit, and got a 14 on ATT, and use my employee perk of $10 off.  I found out a year later its wrongly set up as a business plan, I highly suspect it was intentional, I’ve been paying 20 dollars higher than I should have, and not to mention the surrounding fees and taxes for a business line.

Ismail, you can find out how to do that yourself.

You can also file a notice of dispute.

https://www.att.com/support/how-to/notice-of-dispute/

Or file a BBB complaint (again, easy to find out how to do).

I don't know how you could be paying more when AT&T small business plans are cheaper that for the first three lines by $5 per line and the same cost per line for four lines and up.

Are you not on autopay and paperless billing with a debit or checking account? The discount for autopay and paperless with debit or checking is $10 per phone line which works the same on small business as it does on individual accounts.

You'll have to discuss migrating from business to consumer with someone at AT&T directly. Your assumption that it's cheaper maybe incorrect. Generally it is not

I see your point but:

A: why set me up as a business when I was never one?

B: none of my bills reflect the employee $10 discount

A.  Only the person who set it up that way can answer that question.  The small business plan has perks and permissions that consumer accounts do not. Including twice as much hotspot data and a higher data priority then consumer plans.

B.  Is your employer enrolled in the AT&T discount program?  And are you on a plan that would have allowed the discount ?

Well that store in Astoria is closed unfortunately for me and fortunately for ATT.  Lastly yes, please see my original complaint and I double checked my bills and my employee perk from Dot Dash Meredith was never applied.

So you won't get any answers. You'll have to migrate your number in an AT&T store. You might want to make sure it's a corporate store with a good reputation

Any recommendations, I’m in Queens but am close to NYC?

Scroll down to the lower portion of this page where it says find a store. Put in your ZIP code. Then click on where it says filter. In the pop-up select where it says corporate stores. This is how you locate an AT&T corporately owned store rather than an authorized retailer. This should give you some choices near you. At that point you can look at the store information for reviews
