won't honor special price

I called to cancel a phone line, they convinced me to switch the number to a tablet, by only charging a total of $50 for the tablet, but the bill is showing the full $250 financing cost of the tablet, and won't honor the price they gave me. I have all phone calls recorded, so wondering if it is actionable that they did a bait and switch that I can prove

Are they saying that there will be no credit applied against the tablet?

Didn't they send you an email on the tablet deal indicating the cost of the tablet?

     Did you accept it?

You have 14 days to return the tablet and cancel the line anyway. At the very least, you would be put under a 2-year contract on the tablet which would penalize you if you cancel the line.

In general, That's how all deals work. They're going to show you the full financing cost of the tablet, and show a credit every month against the installment

Works the same way with phone deals, works the same way with watch deals.

I have the recorded phone call saying they were giving me that price, total $50.. a dollar and change per month. I also have the recorded call when I complained last night, where they say the cost is $250, $6.95 per month. I don't have any emails, just the recorded phone conversations. When I said I had the phone call recorded, they said I had to go to a corporate store and let them listen to the call. If I do that, maybe they will honor the promised price, but that only means their bait and switch works with everyone who doesn't record the calls, and it shouldn't be an obligation on MY part to prove what they promised.

When I saw the bait and switch, I tried to resolve the issue by calling the same number l called when I was going to cancel the line, but they 'concluded' that I was not given a special price of $50 for the tablet, and my bill still indicates that I was being charged the full price of $249.99. I have been with ATT for longer than I can remember, and I cannot believe that screwing a loyal customer out of $199.99 illegally is worth losing that customer. I have switched my 3 lines to another company, and am going to return the tablet to an ATT store and I'm cancelling that line as well, since there was NO valid agreement to purchase the tablet for $249.99. If ATT thinks I am on the hook for the $249.99, they need to provide me proof that I agreed to that, and common sense should tell you that when a person calls to cancel a line, you cannot sweet talk him into keeping it by selling him a tablet at full price. You can look up my account number, 669485783 and provide me an email address I can send the 2 recorded calls to, to show the bait and switch, and if there's a lawyer reading this that thinks it's actionable, direct message me.

How long ago did this happen? Credits against the installments don't start for three billing cycles.
