Using AT&T Promotional Cards
I am not complaining here, just inquiring how I can use the promotional cards.
I signed up with AT&T during the end of September, and switched all 5 lines to AT&T during the directv $500 promotion. I received $1500 in credits ($300/line x 5) and $1000 in promotional cards for trading in phones ($200 x 5). I currently have an account credit of like $1200.
My question is the promotional cards expire in May and the online system says you cannot make a payment if your account balance is less than $300. My bill with directv and phones is like $250. I will not be able to use these promotional cards up by May when they expire so what should I do? I have a Next plan i would pay off with them but AT&T tells me it cannot be done using a promotional card. I would just put them all towards my bill but again at&t tells me I cannot make a payment with such a large credit balance on my account.
So what do I do with them? We don't need any accessories, or new phones, we just got new phones.
Any ideas?

With 5 lines and new phone payments, your bill must run $400 or more a month. The credit should be used up in 3. You should be able to get the cards applied by March or April.
I must admit, this is an odd problem. I also know ATT won't reissue those cards if they expire.
Any ideas @ATTDmitriyCM ?

No the wireless phone bill is like $270 with phone payments included. Without the phone payments the bill is only $170. $77/month for 15 gb + ($18.50 w/tax x 5) = $169.50. Plus $32/month for internet and $58/month for directv. That is $360/month. My current account credit is $1223. Which pays my bill for a little over 3 months, putting me into April 2015 where I will have like a $43 credit. I cannot have more than a $300 credit on my account and be able to make a payment. So in April 2015 I will still have the ~$750 in promotional cards.
If I port one of the lines out will it cancel the phone payment plan and bill it to the account?
This is the only thing I can think of.

I was thinking the same thing, and yes, porting a line out will trigger a bill for the installments on that phone.
Then you have a phone fully paid off and you can unlock it for travel if you want.
So, the big offer isn't so big if the cards expire before they can be used huh...
interesting.....
I am going to pass on your unique problem up the ladder. You can't be the only case.

I figured this out! You can use the promotional cards to make a payment via the automated system over the phone. It only recognized my account is paid in full and does not have a credit balance. I applied one of the $200 promotional cards, and it took the payment and I see it has posted to my account and my bill. I wanted to verify it would actually post to my account & my bill before I posted it on here. It works!
