Trying to release my number and port to Mint. AT&T is unable to release it.

This battle started when I bought a new phone and wanted to try Mint Mobile. I ended up having to talk to reps from both ATT and Mint for 2 days. everyone kept saying the same thing. There was an anti-fraud protection text that I needed to respond to. However, I was responding to these and receiving errors over and over from Mint. One representative from Mint even told me they couldn't release lines that are apart of family plans?! I talked to ATT and the rep had no idea what that even meant. So I had to get connected to the fraud department at ATT and try to disable the anti-fraud protection. I was told that he would manually have to approve the transfer and ignore any of the texts because it had caused a loop of authorization and failure. So, it's been 4 hours since then and there's been no signs of a transfer. My old sim is still active and Mint still has an error on the app. I'm not sure what to do since porting usually only takes a couple minutes. I'm beyond frustrated and just want my phone number.

Your phone is unlocked, correct?  Mint uses the T-Mobile network.

It's completely unlocked, I'm already connected to Mint with a temporary number and just trying to get my old number over. My ATT line is still active and I've done as much as I can.

In order to port your number to a different service provider you need the current account number from the AT&T account which has to be acquired from the account owner. You also need the port pin which can also be acquired by the account owner in the online account and it is good for 4 days.

Or dial *port# from your AT&T phone which should text you the port pin

As I mentioned the port pin is only good for 4 days.  Mint's online port may take up to seven days. That means you may be asked to get another port pin when the first one expires.

If you still have active AT&T service you should still be using your AT&T phone to dial *port#

Occasionally I hear of additional fraud protection applied to accounts.  I don't know that that is even possible.

I am assuming that the plan you are on is a consumer plan not a business plan. If you are on a plan thats business, you cannot port directly out of a  business account to another service provider.
