Transferring Billing Responsibility and current monthly credits

We have an Unlimited Starter plan with 4 lines.  I want to make my wife the owner so we can use her teacher discount.  She is a member of the current plan.  We all have installment credit promos applying to devices purchased under the plan.  Will we be able to keep these credits when we transfer and keep everything as it is aside from receiving the teacher credit once the transfer is complete?

Yes. Changing the account owner won’t change any installment plan or credits.

This solution says that they would need to be paid off prior to the transfer

We'll be happy to clarify this for you @balkie.

The thread you linked is 7 years old and that information is out of date. As @sandblaster advised you and per current policy, installment plans can be transferred after a credit evaluation of the new owner.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions or concerns; if so, we'll be glad to assist further. Thank you for reaching out to our AT&T Community.
