Transfer from family plans

Husband & I our both on our separate families plans, we want to get off our families and create our own together, was told in store to call the 611 and be released from our plans and then the 611 will call us to set up but I’m not understanding how it’s going to put me and my husband on the same plan?

If you are existing AT&T customers, and staying on at&t, you both need to do a transfer of billing responsibility with the account owners permission, off of your current accounts, and one of you needs to create a new account as new owner.

https://www.att.com/acctmgmt/tobr/

Any existing installments on phones and related credits if any will transfer with your transfer of billing responsibility. Any accessory devices must be paid off. That means if you have watches or tablets you must pay them off before doing a transfer.

Please keep in mind any potential discounts that might apply and make sure that the one of you who is eligible is the new account owner. For example a teacher, military or veteran, doctor, nurse, or physician's assistant is eligible for a discount off of any of the current plans.

Other discounts only apply to the Premium plan or metered plans.

You will be required to select from the currently offered plans when switching to your own service plan.

If your intention is to leave AT&T entirely, you must pay off all of your devices with your current account owner. You still need permission to leave.  The account owner will have to provide you with the account number and Port pin so that you can Port your numbers to a different service provider. If you intend to take your phones with you they must be paid off and unlocked first.
