Text to 24444444

I don't have tje message to forward to 7726.

The message isn't in my messages app at all, or could have been deleted.  I saw it on my usage summary only

So I've nothing to send to you. What is 24444444?

Hi kerri7105! That number you found in your usage summary report is likely a SMiShing text scam.

 

SMiShing is phishing through text messages. Fraudsters use this and other scams to get your personal info and more.

 

If you didn't request verification from a particular service then you can ignore that message. In the event you do receive fraudulent or suspicious text messages, apart from 7726 (SPAM), you can use this form to report spam and fraud text to us.

 

There are other ways to defend yourself against texting scams. View the details under Mobile security and Common text scams when you visit SMiShing and other texting scams.

 

Some best practices to follow when it comes to SMiShing text messages:

  • Don't open the text message, or click on any links within it.
  • Don't give your username or password.
  • Go to att.com and search using keywords from the message to see if you can find the offer.

Remember to follow the steps above to report unwanted calls and text messages which can be from scammers turning to text messages in order to trick you.
