Text logs

Up until about one month ago, I could see all numbers that were texted to me and my family’s phones. Then it changed, and I can only see some of them. Even when I know someone has sent me a text, it doesn’t show in the text logs. Why? Does it have to do with iMessage? So texts from one iPhone to another not show in the logs if iMessage is on?

Thank you. So in order to see them again I need to turn off iMessage?
