Switching from GF Unlimited to Unlimited Plus? What am I missing?
Wanted to toss this out for opinions on going from Grandfathered Unlimited on two lines to the new Unlimited Plus service.
So wife and I have 2 mobile phones with ATT. Both originally were grandfathered unlimited and have kept it through multiple phone upgrades.
Recently wife got new iphone 7 since old phone dropped and was completely dead. Unfortunately purchase of new phone completely fubared her unlimited service (lackey at store went through the phone service activation without us being aware) and after 3 weeks, 5 calls and 2 escalations to the "back office" to repair, she's still stuck on the basic 5gb plan.
So in the midst of all the calls, we get repeatedly upsold on the new Unlimited plus service to switch over to and I'm now currently breaking down the pros/cons.
Current Plan:
FamilyTalk Nation 700 with Rollover
Family Messaging Unlimited with Mobile to Any Mobile Calling
Data Unlimited for iPhone on 4G LTE with VVM for 2 lines
Total $98
*Plus additional 40$ for new phone monthly installments
New Plan:
Unlimited Plus - No limits on data/messaging/talk minutes
Total $77.50
*Plus additional 40$ for new phone monthly installments
(Side note, above bill has EMO discounts applied, which supposedly will be accepted for new bill plan as well)
-----------------
In theory it will be generally cheaper, aside from price fluctuating from taxes/fees/etc, and supposedly will not loose any flexibility with the service...heck even gain the ability to do Hotspot as needed.
Thoughts? Anything I might be missing? 22gig cap on each line should be more than enough for our needs.
Thanks in advance!

Before discount on grandfathered unlimited for 2 lines...what 69.99, 40x2 and 30 for the messaging. $179.99
New unlimited would be $155. With EMO don't think the autopay discount applies. Regardless it's cheaper, with hotspot and no more counting minutes.

@grundic If it's cheaper it's a no brainer.
I know of no advantages to the older plan other than the FAN discount.
New plan has hotspot, free HBO, Canada/Mexico roaming and better international options.
The 22GB deprioritization applied to your old plan too, so if it didn't affect you then, it shouldn't now...
