Spam text
I keep getting spam text saying it's an ATT free message. Saying a certain month's bill was processed. Thanking James (of course my name isn't James) and saying here is a little something with a link. I'm not clicking that. From phone number 1-929-317-6490
I have gotten several of these over the past few months and this needs to stop

Many customers are getting them, myself included. We’d all love them to stop but they probably won’t. Forward them to 7726, that should at least stop that number from being used. Of course they’ll just use a different number.

I’ve been getting at least 5+ a day. Have forwarded 90% of them to 7726. Not sure if that really even does anything. I only started getting them within the last couple of weeks. It’s extremely annoying and concerning they actually know my name.

In addition to forwarding spam texts to 7726, which helps us identify spammers and block them from our network, many devices have built-in features that help block spam texts. There are also third-party apps which may help. Both options are discussed in more detail here.
