Someone using my email address without my permission for the AT&T account

Someone with an AT&T wireless account is using my email address for their account.  How can I get the email addressed removed from that account?

You can’t. Only the account owner can change the email address associated with their account. ATT won’t even talk to you about someone else’s account. You can only hope the account owner notices they aren’t getting any emails and fix it. It’s probably an honest mistake, not deliberate. All you can do for now is ignore, delete or mark them as spam.

I don't think that's right. I'm not saying it's not true but as somebody who has worked in front investigation for online accounts for years, there should be a process when somebody's information is being used fraudulently whether it was a mistake or intentionally it's still fraud. It should be handled as fraud and taking care of by the company nobody should just have to market a Spam and deal with it that's not right. This is one of the reasons why it's so easy for people to commit fraud online because companies aren't being held accountable for what they're allowing to happen and not having a policy in place. This honestly makes me want to quit my service with AT&t. And when my contract is up that is exactly what I'm going to do.

How exactly is it fraud?

Let's say a user uses a wrong email to sign up.  They type Jenniferrogers, only they miss type and drop an N or an R.  Or they sign up over they phone, and the rep types it in wrong.  Like dadofthree instead of dadof3.

And that just happens to match another existing email?

    Not fraud.

And if the user isn't getting emails, they should login and correct it.

How is At&t suppose to connect it to the correct account, when there is no reference point? Emails are generated automatically by computer. They do not include enough personal information for someone to be able to connect an account number, a name, with an email if the email is the wrong email

Hi. Here is an update on the problem. By the way my email is just my surname and last name nothing to do with this person's name son no typing error this was on purpose. I managed to get in contact with AT&T and they solved the problem. However later on this person used my e'mail when applying for a bank account, I managed to cancel that also. Last thing she used it with her building administration. It took me several months to stop those emails. I don't understand the reason for giving a false e-mail. Now I know her full name, phone number and address in Chicago. Once I find her real email address maybe I will start resending the emails to her.
