Hi there @lsmorrison
If you believe this has shown up on your credit report in error then I would recommend that you dispute the information with each credit bureau.
You can also contact the collection agency who is in charge of the debt directly.
Please let us know if you have any additional questions or concerns.
Thank you,
Michelle

I closed my AT&T home and wireless accounts over a year ago and received my final bill with a zero balance on it. Since then, I have received letters from at least 2 collection agencies because AT&T says the bill was not paid. I have sent copies of the final bill to the collection agencies and contacted AT&T over this. I have a case number from AT&T from when I opened a track on the bill that I paid and even got a letter from AT&T stating they found the "missing" payment that was in question. That was last August, and now I just got yet ANOTHER letter from a collection agency for the same account. I want to know why this has not been resolved within AT&T when they even admitted last year that the payment had been made ???

I am in a similar situation with them. I have spend numerous hour on hold with multiple calls. Customer service is as bad as the Uverse service was. Trying to find ways to file dispute / complaint seems impossible. I think they intend to wear you down until you give up and pay again. I have even disputed the claim with the collection agency. BBB doesn't seem to be able to take a complaint unless they have a headquarters address and contact information, which is not on ATT.com.

The headquarters address and contact information is on the website, you just have to dig a little deeper in the about AT&T portion.
You can dispute something on your credit report with the credit bureau.

Wondering how to go about paying for a wireless account in collections. When I go to pay the bill it states the account cannot be renewed until I pay the account in collections. However there is no link to pay this. When I click to make a payment, it reverts back to the screen stating that I need to take care of the account in collections. I would like to get this taken care of. Thanks.

I paid my account balance off on September 12th. The 13th they added a charge for equipment with a due date of September 29th. The 18th of September I start getting calls from a collections agency for the equipment charge! 4-5 days after a charge is added they are going to send you to collections!???? & the due date even says the 29th!
