Refund on installment plans????
Can you get refunds on money you added to your installment plan that was an advance for your phone payments that you added within 24 hours?
I did, and now my account says I owe the amount I was about to put on my phone to make my installment plan 50% paid off.
I have next up on my plan, so I paid the due amount to qualify for the upgrade, but the phone wasn't eligible for the upgrade due to damage. so, I asked for a refund and got the money back I paid to get to 50% so now I should be back to the amount I was at before but now it's saying my account is in the hole. Now nowhere in the TOS or TAC did I see that refunds for installment plans aren't possible and in the terms of service it doesn't have a clause for phones that fail to meet the criteria to be traded in. It says once a phone has been turned in it cannot be returned but I never turned my phone in and never received an upgraded phone from a trade in. So now the question is " Can you receive refunds or cancel payments, or take funds back from an installment plan that is active and had money credited to it within 24 hours and didn't have a balance due at the time?"
I received my refund but now it's saying I owe ATT money that I paid to them in advance and also when I paid the money in advance, I didn't have a balance due.

If you pay to upgrade, or pay off your installment it cannot be reversed.
Another way of saying that is the installment cannot be reinstated. Even if they give you back the money that you paid on the installment, the balance of the phone is going to be on the next bill.
If someone gave you a refund, I've only seen that done once before and it's a huge mess. It is absolutely the wrong thing to do because installments cannot be reinstated, not if you paid upgrade, and not if you pay off in full.
If you paid to upgrade and can't turn in your phone because it's damaged your options are too pay off the remaining 50% and upgrade with trade in, your damaged phone may be accepted for trade in but not for a next up early upgrade.
Or have your phone repaired, either with insurance, or out of your own pockets.

If I make a payment on my credit card, I can't get that refunded.
Same principle on a retail installment agreement.

i was the one with the problem but now i have another problem . everyone i speak with insist that the refund i received was a mistake and the balance that was previously due on the account was set in stone so i paid it off. but now how with the credits work on my account.
FOR THE RECORD THE PROBLEM WAS NEVER FIXED I JUST GAVE INTO TO WHAT EVERYONE STATED TO BE IN GOOD STANDING ON MY ACCOUNT.
But now that I made my balance zero. I also have questions on how me paying that will affect my account

Your previous post was not clear. Were you receiving Bill credits on the phone that is now damaged and now paid off? If you were receiving Bill credits for a trade in, and paid off the line the bill credits will continue unless you upgrade or cancel the phone line.
