Reconnect defaulted phone plan.

My daughters dad purchased her an IPhone on a family plan and stopped paying the bill after 2 months. I’m pretty sure the phone was also being financed. Am I able to get the phone cut on myself. If so would I have to make the finance payments for the phone????

Hi Sheeblanco. When it comes to activating a phone on an AT&T Family Plan that is suspended here's what you need to know.

If you want your daughter to have a functioning line and phone under your account, the best option in this case is to add a line and a device to your account now that your daughter's current phone and line under the AT&T Family Plan of her father is suspended for non-payment.

Currently, in order to assign her current line and device to your account is for the original account holder (OAH) of the suspended AT&T Family Plan to initiate a Transfer of Billing Responsibility (ToBR) after the account is restored once the full past-due balance on that account is paid.

We hope this information helps. Let us know if you need any other assistance with AT&T products and services.

AT&T may have blacklisted the phone. If someone defaults on phones and accounts within the first two or three months, AT&T usually marks the entire account for fraud and blacklists the devices. So you'll have to check with AT&T and see if the phone has been financially blacklisted.
