Recent cell phone price reductions from AT&T
I recently purchased two I-phones as part of new AT&T telephone service plans. Last week I saw an advertisement from AT&T where they were offering the same cell phones I purchased for half price to new AT&T customers as part of relief for th COVID-19 crisis.
I have been an AT&T customer for both business & private services for over 30 years & I think that I have been impacted by the COVID-19 crisis as much as any new AT&T customer & therefore I believe it is unfair for AT&T to offer these reductions only as part of a program to attract new customers. I think long tome customers should receive the same if not better assistance.
If AT&T pay attention to these posts I hope they have at the very least the courtesy of responding.
Thank you,
Carlos (Edited per community guidelines)

Not to be heartless but it sounds like it was just bad timing on your part.

Those deals are to gain new business and increase profits not out of the goodness of their heart and it is not a sale, and it has nothing to do with covid-19.
Only about 1% of customers change carriers. Carriers write off these promotions as an advertising expense. They cannot provide discounted phones to the other 99% of customers.
If you want a break on phones you will have to consider changing carriers

Thank you for your replies & comments but I was hoping to receive a response directly from AT&T.
If I ever receive AT&T feedback I hope it isn't the "tough luck Charlie" attitude some replies seem to reflect. If so, maybe I'll follow the advice & switch carriers.
