Question about suspend

I'm an international student, and will come back to my country in the summer, how can I suspend my account temporarily so I don't need to pay my fees?

Suspending doesn’t stop being charged the regular monthly fee.  Suspending is normally meant to be a temporary thing for when you lose your phone and want to keep someone else from using the line until you can get a new phone and SIM.  If you want to keep the number, you’ll have to keep paying for the service, whether you use it or not.

Your bill responsibilities when you suspend service or block a device

Monthly fees for your plan, add-ons, and installment plan continue.

Even if you had prepaid service, if you have a $0 balance for more than 60 days, the number is lost.

Prepaid or post paid?

What are those mean? I'm on a family plan with my friends.

I think maybe it is postpaid, because we will get the monthly bill

So that means there is no way to stop paying the monthly fee even though I'm not in the US for 3 months.

Not if you want to keep the number.

And if you're paying for a phone, even if you could get AT&T to reduce the service charges you still have to pay your installments. And if you cancel, the remainder of the installments are due in full on the next bill. That wouldn't be a good thing to do to the other people in your family plan
