Question about business accounts and paperless bills
Hello there,
we are a global company with a US branch, currently utilizing T-Mobile for our 5 US employee phone lines. However, T-Mobile has been unable to provide bills as PDFs via mail, what is needed for our finance department. We are seeking a new provider, and have considered ATT as an option.
We have a few questions for ATT:
- Can we order new phone lines for new employees online with an online portal?
- Will we receive bills as PDFs via mail? We aim to simplify our billing process and avoid logging into a portal for bill access.
Thank you for your time and assistance in this matter.
Best regards,
Michel Ast

Since this is a contradiction in term PDF being a term for a portable document format, exclusively delivered online, snail mail is contra indicated
I assume you either want a paper bill every month, or you want an emailed PDF. I can assure you that AT&t does not email bills. They will notify you that a bill is ready but emails are not considered secure and are not used for any private transfer of information.
But ask in the business forums

Honestly, with only 5 employees, the simplest thing would be to have the employees pay and then reimburse them.

That's one way to go.
Since the original poster is referring to this as an international company, if that means travel outside the USA. I certainly would not recommend a business account which does not cap international roaming charges. Consumer accounts limit International day pass charges to 10 per bill cycle. Consumer account has no such cap

Thank you for your responses. However, the situation is not as straightforward as it appears. Our central finance office in Europe will handle the bills for all branches worldwide, so we require the bills to be sent via email as a PDF file.
While I understand that email is not completely secure, encryption options are available. The main issue is that if we need to receive bills from every distributor by an online account, it will take a significant amount of time for our finance department to gather them all. Therefore, I think that this method may not be the best solution for us,
Is it common for all cellular service providers to handle bills in this manner?

Yes; I know T-mobile does it that way, and I'm pretty sure Verizon does, too. A paper bill would probably make more sense in your situation, but I'm not sure AT&T will mail to a non-US address, and then you also have the added time en-route which limits the time to pay.
Unfortunately, there just doesn't seem to be a great solution in your situation.

As a current Verizon customer, I can attest that this is how bills are done. There's an email notification when the bill is prepared and available online .
AT&t will mail a paper bill to a US address for an additional charge. The fee for business accounts may be different.
All service providers in the United States currently do auto pay and paperless billing, and built into that is a $10 per phone line discount as long as you are on auto pay and paperless billing. If they don't care about paying an extra 50 bucks a month, that's up to them to manually pay the bills. If all they need is the physical record then it's not an issue to be on auto pay and paperless.
If they still need to have a PDF copy for their records, you would have to print the PDF and email it yourself every month.
AT&t will not send a paper bill outside of the USA. Neither will Verizon or T-Mobile. Accounts are required to have a US address
