Purchasing a new iPhone without upgrading
I was curious, I want to get a iPhone 5c (i have a iPhone 4 currently). I know if I upgrade it on my mom's plan which im on I would have to up the price of our current data plan which is currently 10 GB between the both of us. We don't want to do that, so what I was wondering if I purchase an iPhone 5c (which is free) from the Apple store online and select AT&T as my carrier can I just transfer my number and keep the same data plan?

There are no free phones!
The only way to upgrade your phone without a change in your monthly cost is to pay full retail and add the phone under BYOP
It sounds like you are on the Mobile share plan with a $15 a month line fee. A 2 year contact price is $40 a month.
