Porting a number off my account

I’m on my sisters plan she’s the account holder

i have my own plan with a new phone and number

can I port my number off her account without it closing her entire account ?

I just want my number and my phone will be paid off

If I can port it without messing up her account.

i have Verizon now ( not by choice, ) lol

I'm assuming you want to become an AT&T customer.

The short answer is yes, you can. However, your sister will need to allow it (since she's the owner) and there might be other restrictions placed by Verizon that might make it more complex, so we can't speak to those.

As a related tip: make sure to read an understand all of the AT&T prices and promotions before committing. There's nothing tricky or complicated, but there are particulars you should make yourself aware of. Come back here anytime if you have questions about the AT&T service, plans, pricing, promos, etc.!

@Oneadventure

Are you wanting to port the number to your existing Verizon account, or transfer the billing responsibility of the number to your own separate AT&T account?

Your question:

can I port my number off her account without it closing her entire account ?

My response:

The short answer is yes, you can

What did I not get about what you asked?

Juniper didn't answer at all, he was trying to get clarification about what you wanted to do. Your response seems pretty out of line.

Hi there, let's help answer your question!

Yes, you can port out of Verizon without any damage to your sisters account. To start, make sure your number's eligible to transfer. Then you'll have to provide few details of your current account with the new service provider to start the transfer process. Any wrong info will delay the number transfer process.

You will need to submit the following details:

1) Number you want to transfer. Make sure it is active.
2) Wireless account number.
3) Number transfer pin (authorized by the account holder)

You can visit our website for more information related to Port activation, and learn how to generate your port activation PIN. (Transfer PIN)

Next, you can contact the Port Activation Team @888-898-7685 for additional help.

We hope this information helps! And thank you for visiting AT&T Community Forums.
