Port out phone number but keep the line active with new number

Me and my boyfriend broke up. There are 4 lines on his account. I want to port out my phone number to a different carrier but keep the line open and active with a different number so he can give it to his brother to use. Is this possible to do and how do we go about getting this done? I just want to be able to keep my phone number.

Not possible.  “Line” and “number” are the same.  He can add a new line, but if you port out, yours is canceled off his plan.

If you stay with At&t, any installments go with you to your own account.  If you leave At&t , he gets stuck with any installments left.

If you leave At&t , he gets stuck with any installments left.

Just to be clear, he will be billed for the remainder owed on the phone. Any installment plan on your line is terminated if you port your number.
