"No Service" appeared after update

Repeated notifications on my I-phone 5S to "update carrier settings". Ignored several, then clicked "update settings". Now I have no service. I am at home and have always had service here. How do I resolve this issue?

Can't use chat as I have no service to receive verification code.

Can't call customer service as I have no service.

Argh!!!!!

Hi @Cannonbeach

Oh No! I’m so sorry to hear that you are currently without service on the phone after completing the carrier updates! This has been an issue reported by both AT&T and Apple, our network team is currently working to get this fixed up for all of our customers!

There have been some reports that it is only happening with the iPhone 6, but it may be other models as well. Others have reported the following messages on the device display: “Searching” and “Unable to Connect to the Internet”.

There is a current workaround that has been put in place, please follow the article If you can’t connect to a cellular network or cellular data through the Apple Support website for troubleshooting. Additional power cycling and canceling registration has resolved some instances.

Definitely let us know if there is anything else that we can assist you with! We are here to help! Have a great Fourth of July weekend!

Have you restarted your phone? I had a similar problem with my iPhone 6 last week and a restart fixed the problem.

The same update caused the same issue on my galaxy S5.  It updated, and then failed to find the network.   I was on vacation in Fl, and   I took it to the AT&T store there.  They tried to reboot this and saw the same thing as I did, and told me I was out of luck and they could not help me.

Very useless.

I saved my data, and restored the phone to the factory settings and this restored the operation.  However, today, the update was re-applied and my phone is again useless.

Time to look for a new carrier.

Me TOO! SO irritating, considering I have been with AT&T exclusively for many years. Tried all of the “fix” suggestions to no avail. Guess I’ll have to drive the 80 miles to my nearest Apple store to see if they can help my iPhone 6S plus. Also, I have not installed the 12.1.2 update because some have reported problems after installing it. Can anyone advise me concerning this update? Should I update and hope it helps without creating other issues or wait until this current issue is resolved???
