Hello, @Teck boy001 we're happy to point you in the right direction to unlock your device.

We SIM-lock/Network lock devices to protect you from fraud and to reduce theft. It makes your device harder for thieves to access because it only works on the AT&T network.

Thank you @sandblaster. In addition, to unlock your device you will need to:

  1. Go to att.com/deviceunlock.
  2. Select Unlock your device and follow the prompts.

We encourage you to verify that your device meets the requirements to Unlock.

  • Is an AT&T phone or device and isn’t active on another AT&T account.
  • Was paid in full when you bought it (not on an installment plan). You won’t have to wait 60 days to unlock it.
  • Has a paid-off installment plan.
    • Paid through your monthly bill: Submit your unlock request at the start of your next bill period.
    • Paid off early: The wireless number assigned to the device must be active for at least 60 days. Wait 48 hours after you make your final payment to submit your unlock request.
  • Doesn’t have a past-due account balance. Make a payment to bring your account current. It will take 24 hours for your payment to post.
  • Hasn’t been reported as lost, stolen, or involved with fraud.
  • Is an AT&T PREPAID phone that has had paid service for at least six months.

Once your request is approved, check your text messages or email for instructions and an unlock code, if a code is required. iPhones don't have unlock codes. If you have already submitted a Unlock request you can stay updated on the status by:

  • Checking your email (including spam or junk folders) or text messages for updates on your request. If you don't have a wireless phone account, you have to select Confirm request on the email we sent you.
  • Going to att.com/deviceunlock/status and follow the prompts.

Try the steps above to request a unlock of your device. If you still have questions reach out to our AT&T International Support team to best serve you while out of the country; please call +1.314.925.6925 (free from device). Thank you for contacting AT&T Community Forums.
