Need my name removed from previous group account
I transferred out of a joined group account year ago. My name is listed as the secondary acct holder. I have no contact with the primary or the pin # to take it off. Would a secondary account holder ever be made primary without consenting to it? Should I be worried about being held responsible or having my credit ruined? Please advise. Thanks

Hi there, DMH12381! We can point you right direction to get this resolved.
You have stated a couple of things that jumped right out us.
Well, we have some good news. First of all, the primary account holder can not transfer the prior account into your name without a Transfer of Billing Responsibility being done. That creates the consent.
The only thing that you will need to do, to have your name removed as an authorized user, is to get in contact with the primary account holder and they can remove you off of the account.
If there is anything else or any other question that you have, we do invite you back.
Thank you for using the AT&T Community Forums.

I concur with ATTHelp, Matthew
It was. There is no way once you transferred your number out that you are still listed as the secondary account holder. Your user access and all your information was removed as soon as you ported your phone number out to a different service provider.
Not possible with out you accepting responsibility, passing a credit check and assuming the ownership, which you would not agree to do.
AT&T (in fact any other cellular company) has one person, the primary user, that is entirely responsible for everything on the account. It is only their social security number, name, and address on the account.
Being a secondary user makes you in no way responsible for the account, all it does is give you some ability to help manage the account and give you online access. Once you ported your number out, Your Existence as a secondary user was Gone with it. You know have no more online access either.
