Need everyone be there when sign up?
Hi,
Here is the thing. My friends and I decided to sign up for a share plan. And I’m wondering if it’s necessary that everyone be at the store when we sign up? Cuz they want to do it right after they arrive in LA, but I’m supposed to be two day later. So can I just let them to do it for me?
By the way, we're international students thus we don't have SSN...

Who's name is the account going to be under, yours or one of theirs? Since teh account can only be under 1 name, that person would need to be present when the account is opened. They can add additional "authorized users" on the account and those users can then make changes to the acocunt, but the name on the account is the one who will be responsible for the billing, etc. That is also the name of the person who will get a credit check run to determine if you need to pay a security deposit. As international students, don't be surprised to see that you will need to leave a security deposit (as you probably won't have US credit history), and adding an additional phone a few days later might not be possible, or might require additional (and much higher) security deposits...
In other words, it would be easier for you if you open all the new phone lines atthe same time, but it is not required, and you only need one person present to open the account. THe person who needs to be there would need to either authorize addtional people on the account, or be present every time a change is made to the account.

One person is going to have their social security number on the account and have their credit checked.
Any discounts from employement with various companies would need to be in that persons name.
That person is the only person required to be present.
And unless that person setups up a passcode, you'll all need to memorize the last 4 of the person's social security number, if you ever need to call in.
