Is there a way to change the primary number of my ATT account?

I have two lines on my phone plan. One is mine, the other is my partner’s. I take care of all the billing and what not for our ATT plan and the account is in my name. Sometimes ATT needs to verify it’s me when I sign in by sending a code to me. This is not an issue.. Except somehow the default number is my partner’s, and I cannot sign in until he’s able to get back to me with the code. This is fine if I’m with him, but we are both working adults and so it’s not the always case. Sometimes it times out while I’m waiting for the code, meaning we have to start all over with the process. Is there any way to make my number the default number on the account for stuff like this?

Hello, @mjthrasher,

Thank you for reaching out. We'd love to help you be able to change the primary number on your account. Try this:

  1. Sign into your myAT&T account.
  2. Go into Account profile>Account users.
  3. Under Secondary users, select Transfer primary online access.
  4. Select the number and choose Get Primary Access.

Let us know if this helps.
