I’m am trying to get a carrier lock for my sim off my iPhone 12 Pro max
My friend gave me his late dads phone, and now I can’t use the phone service because I don’t know any of the info for it…
I tried to put a SIM card in it but it says carrier locked. How do I unlock it if it was gifted to me and the original owner has passed

Unfortunately, the phone won’t be unlocked if it was never paid off, which is possible when a death is involved. If it is not eligible to be unlocked, you can still use it on ATT or any MVNO that uses ATT’s network.
