I see that I was scammed into the trade in like others
I was told to send my damaged phone bc it was under warranty. I sent the phone recieved a new phone , then AT&T sent the damaged phone back stating that it was not under warranty and that I would be charged $700. I have tried since Nov. 22 yo resolve this..no luck at all. I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND MY DOG TO DO BUSINESS WITH AT&T, CAN NOT WAIT TO SWITCH OVER@

1. I don't see what this has to do with the trade in?
2. Physical or liquid damage voids any warranty, and always has. You would have to make an insurance claim and pay a deductible to replace a damaged phone. If you send a damaged phone after getting a warranty replacement you are charged full cost for The Replacement.
Which you were.
This is SOP.
This would have happened if you had done a warranty replacement with any other service provider and sent them a damaged phone in exchange for your warranty replacement as well.
A warranty claim is for a faulty device that is due to the manufacturer's poor workmanship or materials and is good for one year from the date of purchase.
If I device has physical or liquid damage it is not covered under manufacturer's warranty it is considered the user's faults and the user must either pay for repairs or replace with insurance.
And if you can't wrap your head around this with a phone, consider it in relation to a car... something breaks that shouldn't have, Ford will fix it, you wreck your car, you call Geico.

She who?
And that still has absolutely nothing to do with the trade-in offers
Right back at you...
AT&T's warranty claim process specifically says that physical or liquid damage is not covered and that if you send in a phone with physical or liquid damage you will be charged the full value for the replacement phone they sent you.

Did "She" know that phone had physical or water damage?
Since you got the damaged phone back, get it fixed for $100 and sell the new one to get some of that money back.
