I can't login into my AT&T account

You used your DIRECTV email and password to log in to myAT&T.

myAT&T isn't quite ready for that, so tell us what you want to do.

I can't do anything, whatever I do I get stuck in a loop...if I do forgot username from myat&t it sends me my email address when i try to use that I get the message above...and I don't even have DirectTV...almost worth switching to Verizon, this is messy

Hello @johnyjacques.

In order to properly assist with your sign in issue, we’ll need a little more information. Are you currently in the U.S. and on the AT&T network? Is the error happening on the app, the website, or both? Let us know so we can look into this matter. Thanks for reaching out to us on Forums.

Hello @johnyjacques.

Thank you for clarifying. We’ll need your account information to resolve the issue. We’re sending you a private message (PM) to get your details. Please check your forums private messages by clicking the envelope in the top right section of this page, or click Forums Inbox. Locate the PM from ATTCares and reply to the message with the requested account details.

This is an ongoing issue that I have had for years with AT&T.  Our business phone and business wireless... I can't EVER log in without having to first change the password.  I made METICULOUS notes just last week re: the User ID and the password.  Everything was fine last week.  I go into to check out our current bill and -- of course, per the usual -- User ID and password combination not found.

I am in disbelief.  I seriously cannot recall one time being able to get into our accounts without this issue.  I even have Dashlane which stores all of our user names and passwords.  I am not entering in the wrong thing.....  I do not have this issue with ANY OTHER WEBSITE ANYWHERE.

I'm finding this difficult to understand.  I watch Directv in Florida over the winter but not this winter because COVID is restricting my travel.  I live in Canada.  I haven't been able to sign in to my Directv account.  Now apparently I can't monitor my Directv account because I am outside USA.  Apparently if I have a VPN I can sign in and see my Directv account.  What the heck is a VPN?

@Lisame52

   This is why Google exists. Not only would it tell you what a VPN is but it would explain how to use one on your particular device.

Thanks lizedance40.  Yes I did Google to find out what VPN is.  I don't feel it should be necessary to purchase VPN service for my Directv account when I have been accessing it for numerous years without a problem.  It appears to me that since Directv was taken over by ATT accessing my account from Canada is not possible.  Maybe its a coincidence but I don't think so.

There are plenty of free VPN.  Apple has it built in to their devices. AT&T is trying to prevent fraud by blocking access from outside of the United States, intentionally.

Thanks Lizdance40. I wasn't aware there are free VPNs. I'm trying my darndest to keep my life as simple and uncomplicated as possible.  Technology is not important for me but I'm finding it being rammed down my throat.  I'm a senior who left the working world when technology was very basic.  With what time I have left in my life, I want to spend it doing what I like doing, not playing with computers, tablets, smartphones, etc. .  I had made a personal commitment to take an introductory course at my local college this year but, surprise, nothing is being offered in person due to covid.  I don't appear to be able to learn without personal instruction.  When I do learn something, if I don't use it daily, I forget.  Oh the joys of getting old.  I can appreciate the attempts to prevent fraud.  I read some of the other entries in the forum about the scams and was stunned.  Thank you for your input.  I'm still considering my next step.   Snail mail?? Not likely.  A letter sent from Florida recently took 20 days to reach me in Canada.

Sorry about the progress.  It’s often painful.  I’m trying to keep up myself.
