I have gone to AT&T Store and they cannot help and advise to call AT&T. I have called AT&T and oc course get an automated response. and when I give my cellular phone they say they cannot find it. Extremely frustrating

Is it possible you are using a phone which is 3G only, or is not a brand sold for the USA and therefore it appears as 3G for voice calls in AT&T system? Have you been receiving notices that you needed to upgrade your phone?   If you have lost the ability to use your phone and it registers as no service oh, it is likely your phone number and account were closed because you did not upgrade your phone to accommodate the 3g shut off.

This is just a guess because you have not provided enough information to really tell whether or not you have Partial Service or no service and whether or not you have received messages that your phone needs to be upgraded in the past year.

Hi there, ! Let's help gain you access to your account on your iPad mini 4!

With more details, we can assist you to the best of our ability:

  • What error message are you getting? We'd like to know if there are error codes that will share the reason why you can't access your account.
  • Are you having trouble connecting to the network or just sigining into your account? We're trying to pin point the cause of error and this information will help guide us.
  • Have you tried using different browsers and devices? The error may be due to a browser or device technical difficulty.

We look forward to your reply!

Hi Joyne, Same problem here. No one at at&t--at the contact numbers or online chat sites--can find my account. Yet I get a bill every month for $35.00, showing a mobile device number. Pressing the ipad's manage at&t cellular account button, yields the same result charlesjamesbates describes: an at&t invalid  message, code usim9991. Any help you can provide would be much appreciated, Ed G

Same  problem on my iPad Mini 6 and my husband’s iPad Pro. We both get an “Invalid Access” message that says to “close the page and reopen View Account (USIM9991),” but the error message come up BEFORE the page with the “View Account” option.

I closed the Settings page and rebooted the devices, but nothing changed. Our Internet connection and browser are both working great. The problem is clearly with AT&T, but no one at the AT&T store has any idea what to do about it.

Please help. We are about to run out of data just before an out-of-town trip and will need Internet access.

I  I finally found out the problem.  I was told AT&T no longer offers the plan I had which was very affordable, about 20.00 per month.  I ended up having to get a new plan which is about double.

Thanks, Charles. If that’s the case, then we’ll be looking for a new carrier. We don’t use our cellular account very often, only when we’re out of town, and we never use all the data. At home we use our wireless network from a different ISP with unlimited data. Obviously, it doesn’t make sense to pay more, much less double, for something for which we are already forced to buy more than what we need.

Fortunately, there are lots of other carriers to choose from. (Tello.com has plans for 1GB, 2GB, 5GB, 10GB, and unlimited data, ranging from $10–$29 per month. That’s far more data for less than what we’re paying now.) Bye, bye, AT&T.

I am having the same issue on an iPad 6th generation which has 4G so it is not because of the 3G shutdown. The AT&T store couldn't help us and gave us several numbers to call which not a single agent could help us. Also, had the same issue concerning the cellular number, that it couldn't be found (when calling about the account) and then the computer system they have would just hang up. Crazy, has to be some glitch in their system that needs fixed ASAP. It is very frustrating.

Update:

I have an old grandfathered Session Based account and I was able to finally resolve my issue by calling 1-800-288-2020 and finally talked to a tech who was aware of the error message on the iPad that people are getting. He was able to help me get the payment to go through online and I now have cellular data again. I still get the error message on the iPad, so it can't be renewed on the iPad until AT&T fixes the issue.
