I am getting cross market issue when converting my number

I have tried talking to customer service and went to three different att store to get my number port from postpaid to prepaid, I am getting a cross market block on my number, and no one is able to help me. I have been living in east cost for past 4 years and would like to keep the same number.

The only way out of this is to port out and port back in again. I don't know whether you're going prepaid to postpaid or post paid to prepaid, but cricket is a step in between that does work and even if your phone is locked to AT&T it will continue to work, but we do advise you unlock it before you switch plans
