How do I get my old LG G4 phone reactivated after 9/8/21?

I was sent a new phone that doesn't work and my old cell phone had it's service removed because it's not 5G capable. I cannot log into my AT&T account because I don't have a connected phone so I receive a verification code - even after entering my ID and password correctly. I don't care about your new 5G network. I just want my old phone. I went to a local AT&t store but the guy doesn't listen, apparently he only talks.

Any solution ideas? Before I change carriers...

Yes but a new phone.

Your new phone came with a new SIM card Somewhere In The Box. You need to install the new SIM card and then follow the quick start guide which is also in the Box to activate the replacement phone. Your old phone cannot be reactivated.

If the new phone is somehow defective, contact AT&T about a replacement. Or buy one that you actually like.

You can’t reactivate the old phone. So what’s wrong with the replacement phone? Just FYI, 5G has nothing to do with your old phone no longer being supported. I’m sure the replacement phone they sent you isn’t 5G either.
