How about something for a couple of old retirees?

New customers can get unlimited data and a new iPhone 7 for switching. I have 2 Samsung G7's Edge and a Gear 2 and Direct TV and I'd like to switch. My problem is I worked for you for 19 years and 7 months before a disability retirement retirement and the wife 20 years and I would sure like that iPhone and unlimited data. If not for free, how about a good deal for a couple of dedicated retired employees?

@Retirees Here is the AT&T Employee and Retiree Discount Self-Service Site https://www.att.com/dep/login

The retiree info at http://access.att.com is under construction but there may be more info there.
and I've seen this address too http://attathome.att.com/

Are you getting a DirecTV discount already?

FYI, the free iPhone 7 is limited to ONE per wireless account per year. You can get a second wireless account and get a second, but it'd cost your more than the free phone.

I've read DO NOT do Unified billing related to retiree discounts.
https://forums.att.com/t5/Wireless-Account/Retiree-discount/m-p/4795730#M228448

Please let us know how it works out and which info works best...

The free iPhone is for customers switching from a competing carrier,  not existing customers.

@Retirees  If you have used ATT for 20 years, you don't know it's expensive to switch.  (I've done it, it's not something I want to do again).  Carriers do not prorate final bills.  They also bill ahead when you start with a new carrier.  With activation fees, sales tax and the billing ahead, you get a double size bill from one carrier and a bill from the old about a month after switching.

This is when people start complaining they were supposed to save money by switching, but their bill is bigger than ever.

Dont be a sucker.  Those tempting offers are designed to move you off an old plan (which you get a discount for) and make them a profit.  If your Fool enough to think cell carriers are trying to save you money, your kidding yourself.

You should shop based on:

1.   Good service coverage

2.   Good SERVICE prices.

I do not buy phones from ATT anymore because I can get excellent phones for 1/4 to 1/3 the price of Samsung or Apple.   Essentially, have my cake and eat it too because I keep my low price bill and pay what I would back in the subsidy days ($250 for a phone).

@lizdance40 They said switching and didn't mention they were with AT&T.

I was thinking switch from another carrier, not just switch phones, but maybe not...

@Retirees Anyone can pay for unlimited data if they have DirecTV, it's not tied to a special offer or switching.  Who is your current cell carrier?

You'd have a muchbetter chance in a different phone. Apple controls iPhone pricing.
Besides, they'd have to offer it to all retirees and ... yeah right. Lol.
