Horrible customer service

This company is the absolute WORST in resolving issues - even when the billing issue is their mistake I’ve had to call around 15 times in the past 8 days speaking to multiple people explaining the same story over and over with the rep ending each phone call with yes ill complete the necessary steps to resolve this then when i call back because they all lied to me each and every time i get a different rep with each rep stating they don’t know the person i spoke to prior which I’m sure is a lie so i get the fist and last names of the last three people I spoke to and when i called back the rep didn’t know any of the people i named and asked to speak to and told me she couldn’t find them anyways which is also a lie. I’m positive the so called manager that i spoke to was not in fact a manager and as he gave me his first and last name when calling back again was told that they didn’t know who that was

I’ve had it i have been a customer for. Years and years and am now packing my bags and moving to a new company because these people are liars and hire liars and corporate could care less i have finished a formal complaint with fcc and will follow up until something is done

come on that's like asking a cashier at Walmart in Texas if she knew a cashier in California just because your in the same company doesn't mean they know them, at&t has 100s of call centers and 1000s of reps in the us and overseas , so they were not lying when they said they didn't know them or how to contact them.

Then why when I asked for his name and asked if I could ask for him
specifically when I called again did he say oh yes mam of course????
Is that like Walmart In Different states??? What’s that like then??
Enlighten me oh genius one ... right.. because you can’t — and every
customer service rep I’ve spoken to has lied in one form or another and
since it’s looking like you’re also an employee I’ll believe the same of
you
Your welcome

I've never worked for AT&T, but I do work in other call centers, and I seriously doubt any call center rep would give you their real last name. First name, yes. Last name, no, for privacy reasons and also to avoid exactly what you're trying to do, which is make them your personal contact with AT&T. So yes, either they lied or you misunderstood, but no call center rep is required to provide their real last name on demand. Just the opposite.

Also, as @Constructive said, there are hundreds of call center reps working for AT&T. The odds of you reconnecting with any of them is slim because if the rep is in the office, he or she would be on another call or unavailable to answer the phone. People in call centers don't just sit around waiting for people to call them. They have to take incoming calls assigned to them.

As for your billing issue, you never mentioned what it was. It most likely isn't something that someone can easily resolve and I also doubt it's AT&T's mistake. Tell us your problem and we might be able to help with it.

Filing a complaint with the FCC will get you in contact with the Office of the President. There isn't anyone higher at AT&T, so if the OOP can't help, give it up.

If you switch carriers, AT&T won't be able to correct any "billing issues" so I advise you wait to hear from OOP before switching.

My complaint is indeed on their end — surely you don’t think I’m going to go into what’s happened to me and think you can solve it

Yes they have lied to me... about multiple issues.... and one of them was his name ... why, if it didn’t matter if I could or couldn’t find him... would he worry about giving me his name? The fact that you’re a call center worker in itself tells me everything I need to know about you really

I have notified the BBB and FCC and have open case numbers for both would you like those as well? You’re speaking on things of which you know nothing about except the fact that call center reps are liars (your words) and that you are in fact ... one of them

way to go 🙂

If you're not here for help, then why bother posting? This is a user-to-user forum for help, not a complaints department.

why, if it didn’t matter if I could or couldn’t find him... would he worry about giving me his name?

Because he didn't want you looking up his real name online and stalking him, which has happened.

Not really, no.

You’re speaking on things of which you know nothing about except the fact that call center reps are liars (your words)

Actually, no. You read about as well as you write: badly. My words were "either they lied or you misunderstood." I know call center reps who gave their real last names, and they really intended to help, but faced horrible consequences. I also know call center reps who give out fake names, which I don't approve of. When someone asks me for my last name, I just say I'm not allowed to give out my full name, which is true according to the rules of my call center.

The fact that you have such a low opinion of call center workers tells me everything I need to know about you, too. There are thousands of call centers all over the world with a wide variety of people, most of whom are just doing a job. Call centers are built to help people, not torture or hurt people, which is what you apparently think.

@QuarryRye  best to not engage this person anymore when shes coming in with personal attacks and calls on our character simply for the jobs we have. .

@TinaSnapp

While AT&T employees do look at forum posts from time to time, we are here to represent the forum with our experiences as customers and do not represent AT&T in any official capacity with our responses and do so on our own time unpaid and off the clock. As employees we are not rewarded nor compensated to participate in these forums This forum is comprised of regular customers to communicate with other customers to offer advice and share experiences same as any other user

Because you’re there to do a job... and you don’t do it... means most call
center experiences I’ve had are with people who lie on a regular basis
I don’t read ‘badly’ or write ‘badly’ clearly you’re offended because you
too are a call center worker and the truth, it hurts doesn’t it?
I went to the AT&T corporate website and asked another ‘call center worker’
where I might put in a complaint that someone other than a call center
worker would actually see it and the call center worker told me to put my
complaint in this forum
So is that my fault too? Or just another lie that someone told? Or maybe
the call center worker is just too empty headed to understand what I was
looking for. Either way here I am ... I’m awaiting the next step in FCC
case and BBB has already contacted both myself and AT&T in the matter so I
think I’ll leave it up to the professionals ... not you, yet another call
center person with nothing really of substance to add
Cheers and have a nice weekend at your call center job 🙂

The job you have is the job in question so when the shoe fits wear it and the reason why I have an issue

it’s a character flaw to lie, deceive, and purposefully wrong people, in case you didn’t know

I agree with it though, best to not engage
