Help my microcell stopped working and I don't have a smart phone (can't do wifi calling.)

We have a post paid shared data plan 2 phones (and we basically don't use the data but are forced to pay for it because hubbie got a smart phone.)  We are in Central Florida USA but in a location with very poor signal.  I don't have a smart phone, I still use a pantech renue (it is small and rugged which is important since I'm a farmer and I can't afford a phone that will die because a rain storm catches be during chores or a goat jostles me and knocks the phone.  So I don't want an I-phone which breaks when some one looks at it funny or every other time it updates!)

We have had a micro cell since we moved to this property since the cell service is soo poor here.  But Now I find out that they are no longer selling micro cells.

I have been able to turn on the wifi calling for hubbies smart phone but I still have no service in the house on my old phone.

What are my options.  I don't really want a smart phone since it is a luxury that would cost me more up front AND every month for a service (data) that we really do not use ONLY to utilize our wifi (which we are paying another company for who might at any point due to net neutrality being revoked decide to stop letting the AT&T connection work.)

So, what smart phones are small, rugged, not overly expensive, reliable (not too buggy in the software), and work with at&t wifi calling?

You have a few options with bargain phones or a little more $ for a small iPhone

most phones can be put in a case to make it weather proof and protect from damage.

iPhone SE is the smallest option, with the best case options.  It’s also more expensive

Several android phones are around $200-$300

On the super rugged side are the Sonim phones.  They are listed as Wifi calling capable, but I have to question that.

You are probably already on a shared plan, which means the phone is the only expense.  You can turn data off each month if you want.

Okay, it’s confirmed both sonim phones are Wifi calling capable. They are also covered for defects for 3 years.
