Getting over

I had a past due balance ,, they combined it with my new bill … fast forward new bill is not past due yet paid past due balance but because they suspended the account total had to be paid ! That’s a complete rip off why can’t service be restored if past due balance is paid ! Then on top off that I canceled internet I tried to get it back on they said we have to run a soft credit check on you well in order to get internet back on you got to pay wireless in full what does wireless have to do with internet but then when I asked if I could use my internet credit towards wireless since I wasn’t getting internet service anymore they respond no you can’t use credits on different accounts ..I’m like how does that make sense when you just told me in order to turn on internet your wireless or any account with att must be paid in full …att is so frustrating they stay trying to get over on people I would not recommend them to anyone !

It's not a rip off for AT&T to tell you to pay what you owe. If you've already gotten far enough behind to have your service suspended once, AT&T wants go make sure you're going to pay for service if they turn it back on.

Internet and Wireless are separate accounts through the same company. Internet and Wireless can see each other's accounts, so they know you've been behind, but they don't transfer funds between them.

It might make sense to get your finances in a better place before buying internet service. Choose a phone plan with hotspot to use in the meantime.

It's not past due but you have to pay for it. If your due date is January 31, you're already over halfway through a billing cycle you haven't paid for, and you are wanting to get service more service you won't pay for another week (dates are just examples). With postpaid service, your bill isn't due until service has been used.

Because those are AT&T's rules.

They have discovered that unless people pay off a to a zero balance they just continue to pay late.  You agreed to their terms when you signed up. If you don't like it, pay off your phones, pay off your service, get your phones unlocked and then go somewhere else.

I see that on this forum some people just want to be quick to respond so let me respond back to you … first off I paid my bill I’ve paid more than past due and even though new bill is not past due they want it to be paid to restore service all I said was I feel like if you pay past due service should be restored I never said not to pay secondly I had canceled my internet weeks before this !! I seen I had a credit and I remember WHILE ago they told me all your accounts have to be zero out when getting internet because I was helping a neighbor set up an account well at least attempt so fast forward today when ask about credits they said that and I thought it was funny because you say they are separate but I’m order to get one or the other it’s base off the status of the accounts …but anyways have a good day
