Death of account holder
My dad passed away. I need to cancel his wireless phone but do not know what PIN is nor did I know what email he used. I did not live with him and am trying to close up all his accounts. How do I do this?

Hello @feistyspice,
We can definitely assist you with managing an account for a deceased family member. You can Learn how to cancel an account when there is a death in the family here. Let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.

Hello, @feistyspice,
In that situation, if you were not previously named as an authorized user, then you would need power of attorney to close out and cancel the account.

What if the account holder is still alive. He is on his death bed with dementia and pneumonia? Do we as family have to wait until he dies to close his account without knowing his PIN?
He is unable to communicate but may live for another couple years in a hospital bed, what then? Is he still being charged for a cell phone he does not use because I can’t close his account without knowing his PIN?
Why can’t we close it with his SSN number, I have that!
Thank you

I have power of attorney. My husband is in jail and possibly be going to prison. I am not sure what type of account or how many accounts he has however I am trying to get the info on them to pay his bills and possibly close the accounts or keep them active. I need to know what I should do to find out information .
