Cross Services Cooridnation Failure

Dear ATT...I called with a simple request to port my mother's ATT land line to an ATT wireless account because she is now in hospice care and I wanted her to be able to keep the land line number she has had for the past 30 years. Your customer service people have provided ZERO help. I have been bounce between land line services and wireless services since March 2 only to be told I now have to go to the ATT store to get this resolved (even tgough my local ATT store has already told me they cannot port ATT land lines to ATT cell phones). Your customer services (Edited per community guidelines). Your service departments won't even try to work together. Landlines services say I have to call wireless because nothing is wrong and her number can be ported while wireless says I have to call land line services because her account cannot be ported because the service has been disconnected. So thanks for 0 help. Thanks for not being supportive. Thanks for not caring about my mom who was a valued customer for decades. I will be moving my cell services from ATT and will never recommend your services to anyone ever again.

Is it disconnected? 

If the land-line is not paid for and is disconnected or canceled before it migrated to wireless, the number is gone.  Only active numbers can be transferred.

That is not the kind of experience we want you to have, Lknagengast.

 

In order to provide support with converting your mother's landline into wireless service you will want to consider the info provided by @formerlyknownas. A conversion from landline to wireless can only occur if the line is still active.

 

Reach back out to us and let us know. If the line you're trying to convert is still active then we can invite you into a Direct Message to provide a resolution for you.

@ATTHelp and @formerlyknownas  yes the line is still active, the account is paid in full.
