Create an ID/account without an account number
I recently moved back to AT&T from Verizon and have tried 3 times to either create a new account or combine accounts (I'm also an internet customer). Today is the 4th attempt. I have not received any correspondence from AT&T (email or mail) that would educate me as to what my account number is. Now, in the main Support, it says I can create a new ID using my PIN but I see no way to do that. Last week I spent over 1.5 hrs in chat support and was passed to four people (the last was just about the most useless "manager" I've ever encountered) and at the end, I was told to call (at that point, it was 30 minutes past support's closing time. To same I was angry would be an big understatement). Anyone know how to bypass "enter account number" using my PIN or something else?
It seems crazy to me, that it's been almost a month and I haven't even received a Welcome to AT&T email or mail. Seems like I've fallen into a crack and been overlooked. I bet they don't overlook me when my payment's late because I can't pay it!

Hi JRochester, we understand the need to access your account online with your user ID, we're here to help!
If you do not have an AT&T User ID (formerly known as Access ID), navigate to create your ID now>Go on the article provided to get your user ID. We also recommend creating a strong and secure password during the process. Save your password on your phone if you want to use your fingerprint to sign in to the myAT&T app. You can also text the word myATT to 556699 from any device. We’ll send you a link so you can download the app.
You can recover your ID if you already have it set up or reset your password online. Go to Forgot ID or Forgot password and follow the prompts. Lastly, check out our troubleshooting sign in FAQ page to get tips for solving your login concerns for your AT&T accounts.
Learn how to link different accounts to your ID, this won’t combine your bills or bundle your services. It just gives you easy access with a single ID and password. Feel free to reach back to us if you're interested in combined billing, and we'll help you set it up.
If this doesn't help, let us know:

The key was in the second paragraph. Request forgotten ID. I received two texts. One ID I recognized, the other, I didn't. So I went with the one I didn't. Then requested forgotten password and changed it. Thought I broke the website for a minute because it said it was down for maintenance but I just went back to att.com and chose login and got in. Thanks.

You do not need your wireless account number to create an online access ID. All you need is your phone number.

Everytime I provide it and my zipcode, the following page asks for my account number.

Yup. I just re-checked. I can either enter my phone number and zip, or my account number and zip. When I enter my phone number and zip, the next page is the attached pic.
