Collection

On May 18, 2020, I called Credence and AT&T to make sure this was not a scam.....AT&T gave me the phone number to settle and we came to an agreement to settle with AT&T Mobility, Credence Account #(Edited as per community guidelines), reference ID (Edited as per community guidelines). The amount of $950 due to COVID-19, from the original amount of $988.48. Crendence reference # for settling (Edited as per community guidelines). This was paid by my credit card. I never received the email confirming paid in full, even though the fund were taken from my account on May 19.
Secondly I was told that I am paid in full....that I do not owe anything else. Yet I just received another outstanding bill from another company, for the balance. Please correct this ASAP!
If Credence represent AT&T Mobility why is it that I am sent to another debit collector? Can this be resolved?
I have included all parties...AT&T Mobility, Credence, AFNI. During this trying time I did the best I could to resolve this.....but who is the one that is trying to back out of our agreement? I am sure our conversation was recorded, to verify that this account is now settled and PAID IN FULL.

Credence is one of 100s of collection agencies that bid on bad debt for thousands of different companies and have no affiliation or represent At&t. At&t sold your debt to the highest bidder which happened to be credence. At&t no longer has any legal claim to your old debt and you have to deal with credence. Credence will tell you anything you want to hear in order to collect the debt including lying about clearing from your credit report. In fact it would be illegal for At&t to accept any payment from you at this time and they certainly don’t pay At&t for anything you pay as At&t got probably 10 cents on the dollar for your debt
