Changed my plan without consent

I called att today to see why my rollover gigs had gone away on my 30 gig family share plan. Well I was told that my plan was changed to a 30 gig advantage plan with no overages. I asked who authorized this plan change since I’m the only one with access to the account and they couldn’t give me a straight answer. Then I was told that well maybe the agent felt like I would be better off on this plan that’s why it could of been changed. Like really? When does an agent have the right to say when I need to change my plan. I got the run around for an hour and a half then finally I was told I couldn’t go back to my plan because it was a grandfather plan. So after getting transferred 5 times and having to start all over again I spoke with a lady that supposedly opened a case to get me back on my original plan then she said she fixed it but I have yet to see my online account update. Keeping my fingers crossed....

I had the same problem. After being a loyal customer for 10 years  AT&T switched without my consent my 15GB/mo  to 30Gb/mo. They denied my request to switch back.  This is poor business practice into forcing people to pay for something they never want . I will be looking this week to t-mobile, Verizon and Sprint plans .

I will share my story on social media about AT&T poor business practices.

I will gladly give my money to someone else AT&T !!!

Helps if you read what they did.  Its a price increase and they gave you more data with it.  Its nothing more or nothing less.  I personally wish they would have left the data the same and just raised the price.  This is what they get for trying to be nice.

They changed my plan also. I got a email telling me it was a summary for my order. I did not order anything. I did not ask for it. I did chat with the rep online. I was told I was granfathered.  I was under the understanding when you are grandfathered in the plan is no loner available but I should be able to keep the plan I have.  They have a term for what they did and it is called slamming. I have been slammed by AT&T. I was online with the chat feature with a rep and he went and got his supervisor because he wasn't allowed to change it back. His name was Cielo. He passed me off to his supervisor Mary(the supervisor).  Mary said she would get back with me. I don't think I will get my original plan back. I have not heard back from them.

If you had the Mobile Share Value plan, and still have the Mobile Share Value plan, your plan was not changed.

      ⬇️ ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

It’s a price increase.

    ⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️

I already wrote about the double data.

No, this is not “slamming”.   Because it’s a PRICE INCREASE.

Emails went out, as others have posted their email content.  It also would appear on your bill in the news to use section, as it did for those on the Advantage plan last summer.

Ask the FCC if At&t can raise its rates.   Let us know how that goes.

I posted the link.   Now here is another one to your Terms of service:  https://www.att.com/legal/terms.wirelessCustomerAgreement-list.html

1.3 Can AT&T Change My Terms And Rates?

From time to time we might make changes to this Agreement. This could include charges, discounts, coverage, technologies, and other Service terms. We commit that we’ll provide you with notice either in your monthly bill or separately at least 30 days before we make any materially adverse change. So, for instance, if we increase your rate plan or the price of any of your Services more than what we’ve previously told you (such as in your Customer Service Summary) those would be materially adverse changes. But, not all changes are materially adverse. For example, here is a list of some changes that are not materially adverse: (1) increases to international roaming rates; (2) increases to charges for international long distance rates; (3) increases to AT&T fees and taxes imposed by the government and passed on to you; and (4) changes to surcharges and regulatory cost recovery charges that do not exceed the limits set forth in your Agreement. We also want you to know that, if we make a materially adverse change during your Service Commitment (if any), you can cancel impacted Service without paying an early termination fee. But, you do need to notify us of your desire to cancel Service at the following address within 30 days of receiving the notice: AT&T, PO Box 10330, Fort Wayne, IN 46851.

@Papit1000

If you are on the Mobile Share Advantage plan you we’re notified your data plan would be doubling and cost increased $5 or $10.  If you don’t want the increase, check the new Flex plan which may be the same price or less, for the same data plan.

I don’t get paper bills, only online, which I look at every month when I
pay my bill. All that is on there is the price increase...

I noticed the same change in my plan. I looked at the online pdf of my last bill and that is where I saw the notification about the change in plan name and doubling my data and $10 increase.

I just changed my plan to a 10gb mobile flex plan and saved a couple dollars from my original plan.

What did your plan name change to?

This exact same thing just happened to me last week.  I was told my 10gb plan was being phased out and they so stepped me up to the 20gb plan as a result without my consent or knowledge.    When I called to complain I was redirected and disconnected three times.  When I finally got a person on the phone they tried to convince me it was a great deal I was getting  This made me even more offended and angry.  [Per Guidelines:  Keep it Relevant and Appropriate]. I was never notified that my plan would change nor did I give permission.  How are they able to do this legally??  Something smells fishy.  Is this a scandal setup from the decision repeal of net neutrality??

I believe there was a notice on your bill the last month or two.  I believe some people also got an e-mail. (I don't have the MSA plan).

There was a lot of chatter about it a month or so ago.

You need to do mediation before other legal things. Check your T&C.

Have you checked your previous bills and e-mail?

I was never notified and when I chat with ATT they finally switch it back. I  don't get paper bills.  [Per Guidelines:  Keep it Relevant and Appropriate]. I have been with them since the early 90s.. Great way to lose your costumers.
