Cannot Transfer Wireless Billing Responsibility via TOBR Web Site

I am trying to transfer wireless billing responsibility to my son but when I try to do so, I get an error message (TBWLSI-008) and that I have to call AT&T support.

What does this error message mean?

We want to help you with that Transfer of Billing Responsibility (ToBR), @kbrautigam!

That error code you're receiving means that there appears to be a discrepancy in the system. When it comes to completing a transfer of ownership, you will want to make sure the accounts meet specific requirements as detailed at Transfer wireless billing responsibility.

Make sure to click open What should I do before I transfer billing responsibility?

If you have primary or secondary online account access, be sure that:

  • The account is active for at least 60 days
  • The line you want to transfer is active
  • The account isn’t past due
  • The account isn’t an AT&T PREPAID or company account

If you meet the requirements and are still unable to successfully complete the transfer then let us know so that we can provide support.

Thanks, Lar - though I meet all four areas, which is why I am confused.  The account is post-paid and not a company account (a personal account), there is a zero balance with nothing past due and the line is active.
