Can someone using a spoof number the same as mine affect my phone bill call history

I have had someone harassing me

using my same phone number, well when I login to look at my call and text logs, it shows me communicating with a number I have never spoken with. And I’m talking about multiple text messages and phone calls. Is it possible that the spoof / duplicate number that matches mine is reflecting onto my history because the number is the same?

Hi @loveandblues,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention!

You can forward a suspicious text message to the Anti-Phishing Working Group at reportphishing@apwg.org or report it to the FTC. More information and ways to report can be found by reading our Report Fraud support article.

You can also register your phone number with https://soc.att.com/2JRytwN to sign up to not be contacted by most scam calls. Another way of preventing scam or telemarketer calls would be to use AT&T Call Protect.

Let us know if this helps!

Respectfully I must add that the donotcall registry is a joke that has ceased to be funny. I’ve been verified registered on DNCall for years and it makes no difference, I still get scam calls and scam callers use my number to spoof-call others. I already use Hiya/ATT call protect app (about 20 percent effective). What remedy does ATT have if my number is appearing as a spoofed caller ID, block myself? I actually am getting spoof calls from my own cell number now.

Sure, block your own number. Since it isn’t possible for your own number to actually call you, you can be sure any such call is spoofed.
