Can a person who stills owes on their phone be removed from a plan?

I have a person on our plan that I'd like to remove. How do I do that? She still owes on the phone, $400. Can she carry it over to a tracfone plan? Or start her own AT&T account with it? Will I have to assume the responsibility of the payments of the phone? Thank you!

You can do a transfer of billing responsibility of her line to her. When she accepts, she will start her own ATT account and plan. The phone payment will transfer with her line. If you cancel her line or let her port her number to tracfone or any other carrier, you will be billed the remainder owed on her phone. More info on the transfer of billing responsibility here: https://www.att.com/acctmgmt/tobr/
