Callback from AT&T service
I keep getting a call almost every day from 855-407-4769. They leave a message saying "Hello you have reached AT&T, this call may be monitored and recorded for quality assurances. Please hold and an AT&T represented will be with you shortly" after a pause I get "Hi this is X on a recorded line am I reaching out to Mr. X"
My first thought is scammer, but they have my name which is unusual, and they don't leave a message, they seem confused that I am not there. My thinking now is that someone is trying to hack my account by calling AT&T. I chatted with the online help, but didn't get far. They did confirm for me that 855-407-4769 is a legit AT&T number.
Has anyone encountered this before?

yes same scenario. they call and do no leave messages

However, thanks to number spoofing, it is quite possible the call is not actually coming from that number. It could easily be a scammer.

It’s ATT trying to get people to switch to something. In my case to their fiber now that it’s finally in my neighborhood right after Google also brought fiber.
I get the calls almost daily as well even after telling them to stop.
Funny how competition finally moved ATT to upgrade my neighborhood. Before that they could care less.
