bunch of scammers at ATT and now they're gonna ruin Directv too! Heres how I know.

Oh yeah, liars, cheats, frauds, scammers all of the above. I signed up to switch from Verizon to ATT with the understanding that if I didnt like Att service they would switch me back for free. well their service sucked and after 2 days of trying them I called them and told them to switch me back because their service sucked. They did after a couple hours of run around (of course when they switched me from Verizon it was bang boom your done) and They confirmed there would be no charges for the whole bad experience. A month later I get a bill for $232.00 from ATT which I ignored thinking it was a mistake and I never heard from them again. Now 7 months later I goto Amazon and buy $600.00 of satellite equipment, get it all setup and ready for service and call Directv to come finish the install and they tell me they cant come out until I pay this outstanding bill I owe them. I call them and after explaining to 8 thats EIGHT different people I finally get to this person who says she can help me. only to get some lame excuse that the $232.00 was for service used. thats $232.00 for 2 days of service that had drop outs and lags the whole time we tried them. Thats $116.00 a day! I was and am livid. I am going to the BBB next and any other forum where you can warn people about ATT and now Directv and hopefully save someone else the headache and hardship of dealing with a bunch of corporate lairs and scammers

Why would you ever just ignore a bill? You probably let the dispute window expire by doing that.

AT&T isn't able to switch your service to another company. The BBB will forward your complaint to the Office of the President. If anyone will waive the charges, that's who it would be.

If they are not able to do that then they shouldn't lie and say they can. Those are grounds alone for some serious groveling on the part of AT&t. Don't dismiss the customer so easily. This is no longer the day of, "We're the Phone Company." (Lily Tomlin, Rowan and Martin's Laugh In 1969.)
