AT&T Stole My Trade In
In February, I signed up for AT&T cell phone service and I did a trade in with my Iphone 8 Plus. I have all the documentation: invoice number, tracking number. They received my device and still have not after four months sent me my $175 trade in credit. I have called the trade in number 1-888-445-6005 over ten times and every time I consistently get the the run around. They say, "A supervisor will contact you via email in 48 hours to help you with your problem." I have not received one email. They also tell me we see where we received it but they just have not transferred the credit. At this point, if I cannot get my credit I am just going to write it off as theft. Basically, they received my phone, they processed my phone, but they refuse to issue my credit. I constantly get transferred to people who have no idea what I am talking about. Any help is appreciated.

I am going through basically the same thing right now. I have wasted countless hours and time. It had been 8 months. I spoke to a supervisor via chat yesterday and finally lost it. They said they couldn’t send my phones back or give me a credit for them. I was a new customer and switched to s&this, purchased new phones and just sent my old ones in, which were from a different company and carrier. I’m beyond livid.

I decided to switch to ATT from T-Mobile to take advantage of Trade-in promo $700 on trading in my flawless iPhone 8 device. But I won't recommend anyone to opt ATT services as they are running a scam in the name of trade in promotional offer.
I traded in my iPhone 8(256 GB) and made sure that I have all the data erased, icloud account not signed in, no activation code on device etc (have all the proofs like photos, icloud account history, current icloud sign in devices list). I put that iPhone 8 inside iPhone packaging box and then put that box in another box to make sure its safe in transit.
To my surprise when i checked my trade in status, it shows "Activation code not deactivated". I called their customer service and got to know a different reason "device condition is bad it has scratches and bruises". When I confronted them by telling online its telling different reason, they say - Ohh yes it has both the issues, condition not good and code is not deactivated. I called trade in customer service one more time and this time a new version came - "that device screen is not functioning properly", this time I totally got convinced that its a scam.
THREE EXECUTIVES TELLING DIFFERENT VERSIONS OF DEVICE ISSUES. ITS TOTALLY LIE and SCAM!!!!
Now these executives every time telling that they escalated it to Tier 2 supper for investigation, but no resolution yet.
As a trade in promo offer, I was supposed to receive $700 in trade-in credits for next 30 months , and now they giving me one time $19 credit while that device itself market value is more than $250.
I won't let them do this, and going to file a complaint with the BBB and will highlight this scam on Social media - Twitter , FB etc

Two of my phones were stolen as well. AT&T is now charging me installment fees on the new phones because they aren't issuing a credit for the ones they stole.
