ATT refusing to honor first responder discount
My wife and I are both eligible for the first responder (multi-line) discount per ATT's documentation. We opted to put the account in her name as she had her proof of eligibility with her at the time the sales person approached us. My wife is a 911 Dispatcher. She has now spent SEVERAL hours submitting, resubmitting and gone in person to an ATT store to try to get this resolved. She has submitted her "badge", she is issued a plastic name card with her picture, name and the agency clearly listed, although they abbreviate Public Safety Communications Center as "P.S.C.C." or what I would think is obvious reason. She has sent a pay stub showing she is paid by the Fiscal Court. The associate at the store submitted pictures of his ID card next to her work ID with a note explaining that PSCC is abbreviated as noted above. This is not even counting the sales person confirming her eligibility BEFORE we even signed up. It has be 20 days of this and NO ONE has been able to step up and say enough.
Now she is being told to have a letter written on a letterhead stating that she is an employee. At this point, I doubt that is going to be accepted. I can easily create a letterhead, says I'm so and so and she is whatever. This is beyond horrible customer service. This is my last ditch effort for someone to correct the problem. I am at the point I want to just drop ATT and go back to my old provider despite the fact the being talked into moving to ATT has probably ruined any chance of getting my old loyalty rate back. I'd rather pay more to a company that will actually fix an issue than make you run in circle until, I believe, you just give up.

@Achieversgroup read the thousands of complaints on here about sams club, rarely does anything go right with sams and at&t is left to clean up the mess after customers being lied to or misinformed perfect circle who sells at&t products in sams are notoriously known for promising something that at&t will not honor
@skeeterintexas my wife is a 911 dispatcher for the state hospital and isnt eligible for first net

I am wondering how I get recognition for being a first responder. I do not fall in any category that ATT has deemed. I am a cardiovascular X-ray tech. I work for a hospital cardiac Catherization lab and take emergency call. I have 30 mins to get to the hospital when the hospital calls be in. I have to be on hurricane call and holidays .
I assist the MD with placements of stents, pacemaker, ballon’s , thrombectomy or any life supports of what is needed dealing with the heart or limbs. I work along side with nurses. But I am not recognized.I was wondering what everyone thinks.

Based on your description of your job, you are not a first responder. I was married to a doctor, being on call does not make you a first responder.
You might qualify for a regular AT&T account and get 25% off if your employment qualifies as nurse or physician assistant. If that is what your employer categorizes you...

I'm not sure where you got that definition from,, but it's irrelevant. AT&T has created its own definition so it's more black and white:
For the purposes of discounts, AT&T has also defined Nurses and Physicians as
It stinks someone told you otherwise, but they were incorrect. An IT person at a hospital would also not qualify, unless they fit into one of the categories above.

I got the definition form the dictionary. Because I was curious what it entitled. yes , I understand that Att has their own guidelines. I get it. But it stinks that someone with an RN degree or WHATEVER falls in the ATT definition- can be a “first responder “ according to Att , regardless if they even take care of patients ( which are plenty of btw) . I know I speak for a lot of people when I say- we work hard in emergencies. And we also train hard for life or death emergencies.
Plus again , one ATT store TOLD me I am eligible and IF I would have changed my plan. I would of been stuck with a more expensive plan with no discount. Everyone needs to be on the same page.
