AT&T not giving transfer pin “sorry, cannot process…”

I am trying to port my number out from AT&T but I am unable to get the transfer pin number from either *PORT or my profile online or on the myAT&T app. I keep getting error messages with no further explanation. This extended to the point of having a threeway call with a Verizon AND AT&T agent, latter of whom said to try again in 30 mins “because our system is delayed.” Guess what, tried again later, and the same result. Am I supposed to file a complaint to FCC? How do I get a transfer pin?

I've been having the same problem except the automated process rejects my account pin which ATT agents confirmed is the correct number! I bought a sim with included service to another provider and began the porting process on January 26, 2022. Two weeks and many, many hours later spent talking to incompetent agents, there has still been no progress at all! This is the most ridiculously frustrating experience I've ever endured with any phone company! I am definitely filing a complaint with the FTC, FCC, my state attorney general, and two US congressmen. ATT should not be allowed to operate within the US!

Is the new provider asking for a transfer PIN as well? It sounds like you're prepaid, so it isn't needed at this time, but others have said they had to use 0000.

If you are able to access your AT&T account using your account PIN, it's likely correct. You should contact the new provider and let them know you're getting an error when porting in your number.

I have the same problem. I'm trying to port out of AT&T to a personal T-Mobile account.  Of course T-Mobile require a PIN but AT&T business do not provide one.  I'm totally deadlocked.  I've tried 0000 but that didn't work.  Any other ideas?  No one can do anything.

You cannot Port directly out of a business account as an individual. The only way to leave AT&T to a personal account is to have a personal account of your own. You'll have to have the business release your number and temporarily open a postpaid AT&T plan
